What should I do if I smell gas in the kitchen?
Turn the cooker knobs off and close the gas supply valve or cylinder regulator. Open windows and doors. Do not switch lights or appliances on or off, do not use a lighter and do not use your phone inside the kitchen. Leave the area, then call your building management or gas supplier. Only after the area is safe should a technician inspect the cooker.
Why does my burner flame look yellow, weak or uneven?
A healthy gas flame is usually steady and blue. A yellow, lifting, noisy or uneven flame can mean blocked burner holes, a misplaced burner cap, a regulator problem or incorrect air mix. Let the burner cool, check the cap sits flat and clean only the removable parts. If the flame stays wrong, have the cooker checked.
Why won’t my gas stove or oven ignite?
Common causes are a wet or dirty igniter, a faulty spark module, a worn thermocouple (flame-failure device) or a supply problem. If you hear the click but no flame lights, or the flame goes out when you release the knob, stop trying repeatedly and call a technician.
Is it normal for the oven door or sides to get very hot?
